Partners of the PreFiHy Project

Since ten years, CRM developed an expertise in formulation of wet surface treatment. It owns knowledge to participate in projects to develop wet formulations to be applied on metallic surfaces according to special market needs. It owns equipments (at lab and pilote scale) to coat metal sheet and strips via different techniques.

Moreover, CRM has a lot of expertise to evaluate a wide range of coating properties of micro and nano-films (High resolution imagery, various mechanical tests like micro and nano-hardness, tribology, adhesion tests, surface energy measurements ...). In addition, CRM has also the capability to coat a metallic "pretreated" surface with powder and liquid paints and also perform many characterisation tests of painted samples (corrosion and adhesion).

As an institute of the Leibniz Association, the IPF is committed to carrying out application-oriented fundamental research in the field of polymer material development and suitable innovative processing technologies. IPF owns all necessary equipment for powder coating formulation, processing and application in laboratory and, except application, in pilot scale as well as film testing methods. In addition, there is also industrial scale injection moulding equipment for the production of bonded test specimens and specific test equipment for mechanical testing (focused on adhesion).

Fraunhofer IWU contributed to many research projects in the field of material engineering and gained profound knowledge about (hot) forming of modern lightweight materials and also composite materials. Therefore Fraunhofer IWU owns different kinds of forming machines. Measurement equipment for optical deformation-analysis is used for detection of deformations and distortions of real parts during forming processes.

SIRRIS is the collective centre of the Belgian technological industry. Companies in the target group are member of Sirris. Sirris has a long history of research and technology transfer in the field of injection moulding and production technology. Research within this project is focussed on the integration of the coated metal part inside the injection moulding process.

EFB is the relevant industrially organized non-profit association of the sheet metal forming sector in Germany, with strong focus on applied research for small and medium sized companies. Members from 8 different European companies are organised in the EFB. EFB acts as the project coordinator responsible for managing the project concerning the project group coordination, milestone reviews, financial and technology follow-up, and communication strategy.
