As an association for companies in the field of sheet metal forming and related industry as well as research institutions, the European Research Association for Sheet Metal Working (EFB) initiates and funds application-oriented research and determines technological trends. The focus is on value in use and the rapid implementation of the results in the interest of its members, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU) is one of the departments of the faculty of mechanical engineering at Technische Universität Darmstadt. The PtU acts within research areas such as new press technologies and production processes but at the same time links with fundamental research issues like microscopic phenomena and tribology. It has been active in the field of MHP and deep rolling since 2003 in different research projects.

The work group Production and Component Behaviour of the Institute for Applied Materials (IAM-WK) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology deals mainly with mechanical surface treatment and heat treatment and their influence on the surface layer state. It has an expertise in shot peening, deep rolling and some alternative mechanical surface treatments like piezo peening which is a special case of machine hammer peening.

Networking and project management are the core competences of ecoplus – Plastics-Cluster. Their network consists of more than 400 partners and is the leading network for plastics-industries. The Plastics-Cluster is a superordinated, plastics sector network. It supports, initiates and coordinates inter-company teamwork in the plastics sector. It is an initiative of the countries Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Salzburg. Ecoplus goes into the project with the experience of six Cornet projects. Four of them got chosen as Cornet success stories.

The Institute for Production Engineering and Laser Technology (IFT), department of the Vienna University of Technology, covers a wide area of production techniques and tooling machinery. In development of processes for state of the art machinery engineering, the IFT is one of the most significant research centres for production engineering in Central Europe. IFT goes into the project with the experience of several Cornet projects. In two of them Ecoplus has been the project leader and the IFT was in close contact to this cluster.
